MCLE Programming

Let your expertise shine while getting to know our members

Submit up to three topic ideas. Then work with your Board Liaison and our Content Advisory Council to craft an appealing, practical and substantive class experience.

Breakfast/Lunch Program

Webinar

  • Typically 60-75 minutes of substantive legal programming eligible for IL MCLE credit

  • Instead of the Suburban Repeat Program, you can design a 2-part series with both sections held in the same week

  • Panel must include an In-House Counsel Moderator or Panelist

    Educational handout materials are required (digital or paper)

    Suburban Repeat Program is to be conducted in the same week as the downtown program and regardless of whether the initial program is a breakfast, lunch or dinner program, the repeat program must be consistent with the sponsorship level.

    Venue, AV, food and beverage expenses are the responsibility of the Sponsor.

Signature Event

A customized opportunity to interact with our members over the course of several hours, in a unique setting, outside of the sponsor office space.

Sponsors are only limited by their creativity:

  • Combine education with a social or wellness event (for example CLE and Spa/Golf)

  • Host the education at a destination (for example CLE at Sea or Sporting Event)

  • Watch a legal movie and do a panel and discussion groups

  • Combine education with social and service!

    • Venue must be approved by the Chapter. All venue, AV, food and beverage are the responsibility of the Sponsor

    • Panels must include an In-House Counsel Moderator or Panelist

    • For MCLE credit educational handout materials will be required (digital or paper)

Social Events

Host a casual networking event in a unique venue

Interactive events, such as cooking classes, service activities, ping pong and other table games, are particularly well received. -Diamond- Sponsors will have first choice of month, then each sponsor will choose a month (first come, first served). Raffle prizes are permitted, and sponsors may collect member contact information for such raffles! Social events are to be held outside of the Sponsor offices, and up to $3,000 of the expenses will be paid by the Chapter.

    • Venue/activity choice is up to the sponsor in consultation with our Membership Committee.

Roundtables

Niche legal discussions for targeted audiences

Present a more targeted topic than an MCLE presentation to a small group of in-house counsel who specialize in that area of law. Roundtables are facilitated discussions rather than a lecture or presentation. The typical roundtable discussion includes 2-3 sponsor attorneys and 5-15 in-house counsel getting to know each other over lunch.

Host a Board Meeting

Present to the ACC Chicago Board of Directors

Platinum and Gold Sponsors have the opportunity to host an ACC Chicago Board meeting and present to the Chapter’s Board of Directors for 15 minutes before we convene our meeting. Sponsors are invited to share information about their firms or particular practice areas. For in-person Board Meeting hosts, we ask sponsors to provide a light/working dinner for the Board members in attendance.

Annual PR Credit Seminar

Diversity & Inclusion, Wellness, and/or Substance Abuse Programming

After a successful launch in June 2023 ACC Chicago is pleased to again offer -Diamond- and Platinum sponsors a panel at our Half-Day Professional Responsibility Credit educational event in the afternoon prior to our Annual Celebration Event. In-house counsel attendees will receive up to 3 hours of substantive legal programming eligible for special Illinois MCLE D&I, Wellness and/or Substance Abuse credits.

Diamond sponsors will have the first choice of topic. Each Sponsor may have up to four panel participants, at least one of which must be in-house, plus two additional attendees.

    • Venue is chosen by the Chapter.

    • Event expenses (venue, AV, food and beverages) are included in the sponsor fee.

    • One panelist must be in-house and educational handout materials are required to be developed.

Summer 2024 Celebration Event

Highly attended unique networking experience with Sponsor recognition

With the success of our 2023 Lincoln Park Zoo Celebration Event, ACC Chicago will adopt a similar format for the 2024 In-House Counsel Celebration Event. This event is to celebrate our members and sponsors. It is an opportunity to network, socialize and enjoy a unique experience.

A Professional Responsibility Credit 3-Hour Seminar will be held for In-House Counsel in the afternoon prior to this gala event. Sponsors are invited to the evening event which includes a presentation of the Chapter’s Thurgood Marshall Award of Excellence and a Member of the Year Award.

Premier Sponsors will receive recognition as ACC Chicago Sponsors and tickets to the evening Celebration Event as noted below and in the chart on the Premier Sponsorship Opportunities page.

This event is generally held in September and features a full day of MCLE programming, along with breakfast, lunch, and a reception, as well as numerous networking opportunities for members and sponsors.

    • Venue is chosen by the Chapter. Event expenses (venue, AV, food and beverages) are included in the sponsor fee.

    • Topics presented at the Summit will be selected by ACC Chicago from sponsor submissions. The committee will work with sponsors to design panels that will be of most interest and value to our members.

    • Panels will be composed of no more than four panelists and one of the panelists MUST be an in-house counsel. All panels will be submitted for Illinois MCLE credit approval. Substantive educational handouts will be required to be developed by sponsors.

    • Two additional tickets provided to each sponsor for a total of six guests. All sponsors will receive recognition in marketing materials for the Summit and will be permitted to distribute promotional items, contribute raffle items and provide one pop-up sign to be placed by ACC Chicago staff at event.

    • ACC Chicago reserves the right to modify the structure and scheduling of this event.

    • The sponsorship fees for the Summit are only for sponsorship rights. Necessary hotel arrangements and travel expenses for Sponsor personnel are not included in sponsorship fees.

Podcast Episode

Share your expertise with engaging storytelling

Sponsors have the opportunity to provide their podcast content for distribution to ACC Chicago Members on the Chapter’s podcast platform, ACC Chicago It’s All Hearsay!  Podcasts can be on substantive legal topics or other legal developments.  Podcasts provide our sponsors with a platform to engage our members through expert input and engaging storytelling.

In-House Career Development Event

Design and present on In-House Attorney Career Development

ACC Chicago welcomes programs that explore current trends and soft skills needed throughout the career of an in-house attorney. The Chapter is happy to explore and collaborate on topics that serve our members in these ways. Follow up the program with a related article blasted to our membership and/or a podcast episode.

Diversity Summer Internship Program Event Sponsorship

Empowered students and networking opportunities

ACC Chicago conducts a Diversity Summer Internship Program, which has been a model for other ACC Chapters, and places Rising 2-L students in Chicago-area in-house legal departments to introduce them to the practice of law from an in-house perspective.

In addition, the program offers both individual and group mentoring programs focused on the “soft” and other skills critical to success in today’s professional world. Diversity Summer Internship Sponsors will have the opportunity to host a social/career development seminar with the interns and in-house counsel from host corporations.

    • Sponsors may have a reasonable number of attendees at these events. Food and beverage costs are included in the sponsor fee.

Street Law Initiative Sponsorship

Legal pipeline development and meaningful connections with in-house counsel

ACC Chicago conducts an award-winning program with Street Law, Inc. through which ACC Chicago member volunteers lead engaging legal workshops in Chicago and Northwest suburban public high schools in an effort to encourage diverse, underserved high school students to explore legal topics, role play and develop interest in legal careers.

In connection with the Street Law program, Sponsors may elect to support either the Chicago or Northwest suburban program which would include multiple opportunities to engage with our membership.

Sponsors will participate in classroom visits with our member volunteers and host (or subsidize) a one-day conference with our member volunteers and students.

This program is a great way to demonstrate your firm’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and make a meaningful impact in the lives of these high school students.

It should be noted, as provided above, that there are a few remaining one-off programs to which ACC Chicago has previously committed that may be periodically scheduled during the Program Year.

In addition, we may from time to time agree to co-sponsor events with other organizations whose purposes are consistent with the goals and values of the Chapter and ACC Global, in accordance with established guidelines. Sponsors of a la carte events will not be recognized as 2024 ACC Chicago Premier Sponsors and will not receive the full package of sponsorship benefits.
